Pocket Console uses your AWS Access Key and Secret Key in order to provide you access to manage your AWS account. This information is used to calculate authentication signatures as required by the AWS APIs and is never transmitted from your device to our own services, nor any third party services. Access to the AWS APIs is via HTTPS connections. Access and Secret Keys are stored securely in the iOS Keychain, where they are encrypted with your device passcode, and optionally protected by Touch ID.
Likewise your AWS account or IAM username and password is used to login to the AWS Management Console on your behalf for the purpose of creating IAM user(s), access and secret keys in order to use Pocket Console. Once the IAM user(s) have been created, your username and password are immediately discarded. They are never transmitted from your device to our own services, nor any third party services.
We strongly recommend you setup CloudTrail on your account to protect the sanctity of your resources. CloudTrail logs any and all API calls taken against your account for supported AWS products, including calls made by Pocket Console using the access keys you provide.
We collect anonymous device statistics (such as iOS version and iOS device model) in order to improve our ability to write and maintain Pocket Console. For example, this information can inform decisions such as when it is safe to fully take advantage of the new capabilities of iOS 8 by removing iOS 7 support. We will not share this information with any third parties.
We request your name and a contact email address within the app when you leave feedback. This is for the purpose of being able to respond to your feedback. We will not share this information with any third parties.
As these fields are required by our ticketing system if you are not comfortable providing your name and email address please use fake information. However, this means we will be unable to respond to your feedback.
We will comply with any valid legal request from an authorised entity (such as state or federal law enforcement) for access to information but will release no more information than is necessary. This information does not include your AWS access keys as we do not have access to this information.
